My Trabant's new engine

Since my old Trabant engine just died a few weeks ago with a stuck cylinder I finally found a well known and very enthusiastic and honest Trabant specialist. He is reworking engines, parts, cars since a long long time and he also made a very good price for the little Trabant engine. Since my old engine was not the original one anyway I took a renewed engine. Fully redone with a one year warranty as well. Mr. Prautsch has his little Oldtimer Service Company near Leipzig. He and his colleague work on Trabant's, Skoda, Wartburg, Simson, MZ...

Here is a sneak preview of the Engine:

Cougar-15 years-good and not so good

On April 7th 1999 I picked up my Ford Cougar at the Dealership. Only 30km on the Odometer...smelt new...now 15 years later...184600km, a few aging signs, but still looking and driving great.
My family loves the good old Cougar. So I made it ready for the next technical Inspection (HU/AU). The cat passed it easily.. Two more years...running strong.
2 hours later I picked up Jonathan with the Cougar and...nothing happened. Engine tries to start but no gasoline. Called the ADAC(AAA)... Fuelpump won't run...my first idea as well. So the Cougar was towed to the next dealer. Hmmm. After a night standing still there he started again. Like nothing ever happened. Good for me and the Cougar. Time to find a solution.

Bats, Lonestar Roundup, Bye Bye Austin

Two busy, interesting, filled with new experiences, friends and fun are ending. So our team decided to go to downtown Austin. It was a nice evening and since one of the Teammembers had also his family with him we went to the Bat Bridge on South Congress in Austin. This is the worlds largest population of Bats in a City. Millions of Bats are living under the bridge and come out each night after sunset to chase insects. An interesting view...
The other great thing going on this weekend is the Lonestart Roundup Car Show in Austin. Since most of us leave this Saturday we had at least the chance to see many classic cars, Hot Rods on Friday evening, cruising down South Congress.. Burnouts, Flames, V8 engine sound...it was great.
