With 5 friends I was supposed to go to Austria for skiing on March 13th. We cancelled it due to the quick changing situation with new cases of COVID-19, especially from Austria and the skiing areas.
A colleague/friend of mine came back a week before from Ischgl and well, he was infected and hospitalized. Went into a artificial coma and is now back from rehab. Glad that he is back to life now.
So this all hit us. I am working as many others from home. Glad, that this is possible and I am not laid off or so. My job is still busy, since the service / support is not that hard hit worldwide in my area of work.
Kids are at home... Home schooling works somehow pretty well. Our scholl (Montessori style) had some early adopted plans already and kids were able to attend Zoom sessions.
But it is not always perfect, after a few weeks the Kids really want to meet friends again.
I do almost daily WebEx sessions with my colleagues to see each other and talk a bit. Fabian is back to the apprentice ship, of course limited.
Dagmar does online sales sessions for her proWIN business.
We did a lot of work at home, in our garden. A new fence was built. I do a lot of BBQ.
Surprisingly the kids do not surf that much more compared to normal times.
I had to buy a additional 24" Monitor for my daily work, since the small Laptop screen was too small after looking at tons of logs / data from Customers.
On my Ford Cougar I replaced the rear springs, since one was broken. Also the inspection (HU/AU) was successfully done.
We are now preparing our Citroen Jumpy for the return in June. The new car will take bit longer than planned due to the closed factories etc.
Vacation is coming, but we cancelled our trip to the Amusement Park due to the restrictions.
We booked with Hotel, but since no Pool is open, no indoor our outdoor playground for kids etc. we decided to take a voucher and do that next year or so.
After more than 10 weeks Home Office, Home schooling I am not in the mood to get stuck at the Hotel and do nothing after the park closes. The Kids want some excitement and without any local stuff it will be again us to entertain them.
Dagmar and I would have loved to just relax at the Pool and have the Kids play with others or so...
From work it will still take a few more weeks, if not even months to return to our Location.
Strange.. I usually work from home Mondays and Tuesdays,when Dagmar goes to work. Those two days are ok, but the whole week is a totally different Level.
It works and the Kids are absolutely lovely... but it is also another Level of Stress.
After weeks, where toilet papaer was sold out and other stuff was limited it is getting normal. We have to wear the Masks. Usually Dagmar and I go shopping and the kids stay at home.
Hopefully the world will return to a normal Level one day. Without all those idiots that spread consipracy theories all around with ridiculous stuff.
