Rebuilding the Trabant Gearbox

After I participated the Seminar with Klaus Brinkmann I already planned to rework my gearbox. It was leaking a bit and the 4th gear won't work all the time. The parts were bought and it was my second vacation week. I removed the engine and gearbox from the car and started to disassemble the gearbox. I replaced the parts, cleaned everything and put it back together. A clean, working gearbox does a even better job now. The 4th gear works just perfectly.
I am soooo happy that I did that.

Cougar meeting and Mazda Museum in Augsburg

It was time again for little Ford Cougar Meeting. Thomas, my friend from Munich with whom I started EURO NECO in 2002, planned a trip to Augsburg. We took the little ride to Augsburg on a beautiful, sunny day to the Mazda Museum. It was just opened and we had some relaxing time there. Was great to see some old friends again. At the end we had some nice Dinner. All four Cougars drove perfectly :-)

Trabant Engine/Gearbox Education with Klaus Brinkmann

It was my wish and dream since a few years to participate at Klaus Brinkmanns Seminar to rebuild the Trabant Gearbox and Engine. It is a two day course in Calw, near Stuttgart. So it is close to where I live.
I contacted Klaus earlier this year to ask, if the class takes place this year. He is doing this class since 20 years or so. May 19/20th was the weekend for the class. I drove there with my Trabant, of course.
Klaus showed us how to disassemble and reassemble the gearbox and engine without special tools etc. We reworked both during the day and also the carburator.
Overall it was a great great class and I met also some other Trabant lovers.
