We have never been to Dallas before. So we took the kids and drove to Dallas. About an 3 to 3 1/2 hour drive from Austin. Not too bad. First stop in Dallas was the very beautiful Dallas Zoo. We are Zoo and Aquarium nuts. So it was a must. The Zoo is definietly a very good experience and not even expensive. Very beautiful layout and design. The animals must feel comfortable in that Zoo.
It was of course still pretty hot. But we did not speed through. We relaxed. We could not see all animals expositions but that was ok. I was not totally fit, since I had some stomach problems since friday. Can you imagine me not eating at all ? Yes, it happened.
The Zoo closed at 5pm so we continued downtown Dallas. Overall another big city with skyscrapers, some older Buildings and of course some historical markers (like the Houston Street where JFK was shot). Since the kids were tired of walking we looked for the new opened Hard Rock Cafe. We are always trying to get to a Hard Rock Cafe, when there is one in the city we are visiting.
The one in Dallas is new. With interactive Flatscreens at the booths where you can vote for the next song to be played. Was cool. Fabian loved it :-)

Josefine was the star at that time. All the waitresses came and smiled at her. They said, she is so far the cutest little girl ever in the HRC. One waitress was so touched, when she smiled and danced/headbanged :-) to Kings of Leon...
Our little princess, yes she is cute :-)
So we had a great evening and a safe trip back to Austin. Now we enjoy the last weekend in Austin and see some more friends.
